Karen Ripley, Queer Comic and Improv Master

Recently featured in episode two of LOGO TV’s “wisecracks”. Keep your eye on RIPLEY. Her comedy comes from her life experiences.

From the “bluest lesbian jokes” to the most thought provoking political insights. Ripley's laid back style will relax and then surprise with a one liner that will cause your head to fly back and your mouth will open. Intense sounds of laughter will rise up from your diaphragm and you will be loaded with endorphins. Effects have been know to last for days. And when you repeat Ripley's jokes to your friends the effects start all over again.

Ripley began her comedy career in the heyday of glbt comedy movement in San Francisco and now appears regularly at clubs, colleges, cruises, and festivals around the country. Karen has written two musical comedies with her long time theater friend Annie Larson. In 2005, “Show Me Where It Hurts” won best musical comedy at the San Francisco Fringe Festival, and 2006 “Waiting For Fema," was selected as new faces on the scene for the Diva Fest Theater Project. Ripley’s master improv teaching techniques will turn audience members into Emmy winning actors and comics. karenripley.com

Shelley Doty
Labeled "a future legend" by one reviewer and a "guitar goddess" by another, Shelley Doty is considered one the best independent performers in the business. Watching her perform is awe-inspiring due to her masterful guitar licks, soulful voice and charismatic stage presence.

As a songwriter, she creates articulate songs for today by sprinkling them with respect for the music of her youth (rock, R&B, jazz, funk). Shelley sings with passion and plays with an authentic raw energy that cuts through the air with jubilant imagination and freshness. In addition to fronting her band, the Shelley Doty X-tet, Shelley also often performs solo acoustic. When Shelley plays electric guitar she rips into it like no other woman ever has - she has a swagger and confidence to play lead guitar that is as rare as it is electrifying. But she also has the subtlety and tenderness to cause an audience to shiver at the elegance of her voice and insightful lyrics. Don't be fooled though - she can bring the same intensity she's known for when playing electric to an acoustic setting. "...the complete performer in her use of cranked up emotions in her singing, edgy rock energy and swinging jazz guitar rhythms."            www.shelleydoty.com

Simone Campbell produces a monthly comedy show at the White Horse Inn the 4th Sunday of every month. Each show benefits either a charity of some sort or an individual who is working for change. The general vibe of the show is honoring good intention and holding people accountable for how they think.

After only a year back on the comedy circuit she has kept audiences laughing with her rapid-fire wit, while challenging you to not believe everything you think. Her high voltage, in your face style is matched only by her commitment to community and the idea that anyone can create positive change.

Simone has performed at: The White Horse; The Deco Lounge; Harvey's; Q Comedy @ the Women's Building Brainwash Cafe; Rooster T. Feathers; Wild Side West; DNA Lounge; Russian River Resort; Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre ...and more.

Her radio work is at: www.piratecatradio.com under podcasts / "Morning Show" November 21 and her website is www.myspace.com/funnyladysimone
